I have improved organisational cultures and have motivated the workforce successfully in a variety of Director Roles.

Some of my leadership achievements:

  • Drove organisational cultural change from a bureaucratic style to a dynamic, empowered commercial ‘can do culture’. This in a number of roles in medium and large organisations, most recently as Managing Director at Weymouth and Portland Housing, Interim Consultant at Southern Housing Group and Director of Intermediate Housing at Sovereign Housing Association.
  • Led significant staff structure reviews of Housing Management, Sheltered Housing, Property Services and the Building Maintenance Division at Weymouth and Portland Housing. Achieving the cooperation and support of staff in improving methods of working, significant cost reductions and increases in revenue.
  • Facilitated strategy formulation at Board ‘away days’ using strategic planning techniques and the business excellence model. Undertook governance reviews against the NHF code of practice.

Consultant and Innovator

I am keen to share my wealth of knowledge and experience, to enthuse others and thus to help them achieve. Ocean Wave Consultancy offers consultancy services to any organisation that needs interim management, problem solving assistance, project management and coaching skills for short periods.

I have already provided consultancy through a variety of temporary job roles by managing major change projects.

Some of my consultancy achievements:

  • Designed a strategy for a newly formed commercial housing function which manages Shared Ownership and Leasehold properties at Sovereign Housing Association. Implemented an appropriate and efficient staff structure which addressed organisational issues.
  • Responsible for change management, underpinned by individual and team coaching to facilitate the merger between Sovereign Housing Association and Twynham Housing Association.
  • Designed and implemented a new resident governance structure at Sovereign in partnership with residents. Recognised as an example of good practice by the Chartered Institute Housing and HouseMark.
